Frequently Asked Questions
Who can purchase from Bastion Peptides?
Bastion Peptides sells exclusively to qualified researchers, scientific institutions, and licensed laboratories for in vitro research purposes. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are a researcher and that the compounds will be used for lawful laboratory research only — not for human or animal administration.
What does “research use only” mean legally?
Research-use-only (RUO) compounds are sold for in vitro (cell/tissue-based) laboratory research. They are not approved by the FDA or any regulatory body for therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical use. They may not be administered to humans or animals. This designation is consistent with the FDA’s RUO classification for peptide reagents.
How is purity verified?
Every batch undergoes HPLC purity analysis and LC-MS mass confirmation at Janoshik Analytical, an independent ISO-compliant laboratory. We require ≥99% purity by HPLC for all compounds. The full COA is published for each batch and is accessible via the COA Lookup tool above.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, and other major cryptocurrencies via our secure crypto checkout. Cryptocurrency payments are processed privately and confirmed on-chain before fulfillment. See our Crypto Payment Guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.
How long does shipping take?
Orders placed before 2pm ET ship same business day. Standard transit is 2–4 business days within the continental US. Expedited options are available at checkout. All orders ship from within the United States in discreet, unmarked packaging with cold pack insulation.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, Bastion Peptides ships within the United States only. International shipping introduces customs unpredictability and cold chain risk that we are not able to guarantee. We expect to expand to select international destinations in the future.
How should lyophilized peptides be stored?
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored at -20°C in a frost-free freezer, away from light and moisture. Under these conditions, most peptides remain stable for 12–24 months. Once reconstituted, store in aliquots at -80°C and minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Avoid storing reconstituted peptides at room temperature.
What is the recommended reconstitution procedure?
Each product page includes a compound-specific reconstitution protocol. Generally: allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the side of the vial using a sterile syringe, swirl gently (do not vortex), and allow to dissolve fully before aliquoting. Concentration depends on your assay requirements.
What is your return and refund policy?
Due to the nature of research compounds and cold chain handling requirements, we do not accept returns of opened or unsealed vials. If you receive a damaged shipment or a product that does not match its COA, contact us within 7 days of delivery with documentation. See our full Refund Policy for details.
How do I read a COA?
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) contains: the compound name and CAS number, the batch identifier, the analytical method used (HPLC, LC-MS), the measured purity percentage, the retention time chromatogram, the mass spectrum confirming molecular weight, and the date of analysis. The purity figure at the top of the HPLC section is the most critical metric — ≥99% is our minimum threshold.
