Overview
L-Glutathione (reduced form, GSH) is a tripeptide composed of glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine. It is the body’s most abundant endogenous antioxidant and plays a central role in oxidative stress regulation, cellular detoxification, immune function, and melanin biosynthesis. Its reduced form is the primary substrate for glutathione peroxidase and glutathione S-transferase enzyme activity, making it a critical molecule in redox biology research.
